
Events
The SoLu Grape Grinder is a three hour – 2 person mountain bike relay race.
There are three categories: Elite, Sport and Citizen and three events in each:
Elite – Elite or Professional Riders
- 3 Hour 2 Person Male
- 3 Hour 2 Person Female
- 3 Hour 2 Person co-ed
Sport – Competitive, seasoned riders out to win it!
- 3 Hour 2 Person Male
- 3 Hour 2 Person Female
- 3 Hour 2 Person co-ed
Citizen – Beginner and novice riders out to have some fun and maybe win some swag!
- 3 Hour 2 Person Male
- 3 Hour 2 Person Female
- 3 Hour 2 Person co-ed
A few more details and rules
- All teams are 2 person teams. There is no single rider event.
- There isn’t a Junior category, but Juniors are welcome to race in either category. Juniors will need to stop by the race day packet pick-up table to have their parents sign a waiver.
- There will be no day-of registration. All registration must be done on-line prior to the event. Registration packets and numbers will be available for pickup on Friday evening and Saturday morning before the race.
- There will be staggered starts
- The team that wins will have the most laps completed within the 3 hour time limit. The laps must be completed by the end of the time limit in order to count.
- Racers may choose to not compete for the entire time of their event. The total number of laps completed will be used for the final results
- Only officially registered racers and event staff may ride on the designated racecourse during the event
- Racers must display their bike handlebar number on the front of their bikes, whenever on-course. In the case of a bike swap, racers must swap the bike number to the new bike prior to continuing the race. Race officials may request to see this at any time. Wrist bands have been added to designate team riders and paid participants. A wrist band must be worn to be on the race course competing.
- Shortcutting the course by any logged-in racer shall result in a disqualification of that racer’s team.
